CGA Engineers teamed with ONE Architecture, LLC as the civil consultant to design and prepare plans for the Seminole Nation Tribal Cemetery. The 20 acre site is located along Oklahoma State Highway 59 near Wewoka, Oklahoma. 6.6 acres of the 20 acre site was developed for the cemetery. The tasks included site survey, grading, drainage, utilities, surfacing, erosion control and stormwater management.
Utilities included extending water used for irrigation and electric for lighting.
The Veterans Administration provided a grant for the veteran portion of the site. The cemetery was divided into two portions, a tribal portion and a tribal veteran's portion.
A 3% ground slope for the cemetery was required. The existing 6% ground slope was flattened to accommodate the cemetery regulations. The grading was also designed to accommodate future expansion of the site.
An existing grass swale ran through the roadway and parking areas of the site. This swale was realigned adjacent to the parking area to keep the integrity of the watershed.
